I felt hopeless and alone after having my daughter. Her father was often working out of town and my family lived out of state. I believed I had no idea how to raise a child, so I turned back to the one thing I did know, drugs. I wandered down the destructive path I was so familiar with and became an empty and hollow shell. Miraculously because of my family’s prayers and the grace of our God, the doors to the Women with Children Program in San Antonio were open to us

I am 19 years old and I was addicted to opioids and meth. The drugs seemed to be the cure all for my emotional pain. The drugs filled a hole that was inside of me. I came to Adult & Teen Challenge because I was looking for answers, and now God is healing my pain and helping me move on with my life. I am now a new creation created by God.

I came to Adult & Teen Challenge to change my life and find safety and hope. While being here I have found sobriety, restoration with my family and have grown closer to God.

I was lost, deep in depression and addiction. I had stopped taking care of myself and left the care of my children to my parents. Rock bottom came when I was convinced b those around me, including myself, that I was completely unable to be a mother to my children. I signed away my parental rights. I was done. But God was not done with me! I am here by His grace. He has breathed life into me again, and I believe that hope is not lost.

I had faced a lot of abuse and pain in my past, and was struggling with mental and physical health. I came to Adult & Teen Challenge because I wanted to grow closer to God, and be healed from my past. I am becoming the mom my son needs me to be. I want to be there for my son, and be the constant support he deserves.

My addiction began when I was 34 years old and I lost my daughter. My life went downhill from there. I came to Adult & Teen Challenge to get clean. I was brought up in a Pentecostal, church and when I found out that this program had a Pentecostal background, I felt God had brought me here.

Before coming to Teen Challenge, my lifestyle was destructive and very dangerous. After my divorce six years ago, I fell deeper into darkness that I had ever gone before. Thankfully, God had His hand on me and a plan for my life! Though I was baptized in 2019, I have only realized what it means to have a personal relationship Jesus Christ since I arrived here in May.

I came to Adult & Teen Challenge because I was running from my addictions; shame, guilt and remorse. I was feeling hopeless, and had given up. My family found help for me here. I found a new freedom and all my chains have been broken. Finding God has changed my life and relationships. I found the solution to all my problems in Christ Jesus, and I never have to face this life alone.

My addiction was killing me physically, emotionally, and spiritually. My life had become dark and I was hopeless. I came to Adult & Teen Challenge to be set free from the bondage of addiction and to strengthen my relationship with my heavenly Father. I desire that He would guide me down the path that He has intended for me and that I can be a better mother to my children and to have better relationships with my family and loved ones.

I met God when I was little, but I never understood how great His love was for me. I came to Teen Challenge because I chased what the world had for me, but it left me physically, mentally, and spiritually broken. It led me back to addictions and left me alone and isolated with my sin. I was bruised through hardships and trials, but God saved me. He paved the way, healed my wounds, and keeps His word.

I was stuck in the streets without hope. My life was out of control and I had nowhere to turn for help. I came to Adult & Teen Challenge because I want to turn my life around. I hope to learn healthier coping mechanisms and develop better character so that I can have my family back in my life.
