3 Magnolia students begin the Re-Entry program in Brenham

Magnolia Men’s campus said good-bye to three of their students after they completed the second phase of Adult & Teen Challenge of Texas. They are now at the Brenham Men’s campus ready to start the third phase Re-Entry program where students develop an exit strategy and prepare for transition back into the community.  Once the third phase is completed, the next step is graduation.

Thank You Golf Players & Sponsors

Thank you to all of the players and sponsors who participated in the 2014 Adult & Teen Challenge of Texas Golf Tour.  We appreciate everyone who came out to support the Magnolia, San Antonio, and Azle tournaments.  We hope to see you all next year at our 2015 golf tour.

The Azle Golf Tournament on Monday, October 13th was the last tournament of the 2014 Adult & Teen Challenge of Texas Golf Tour following San Antonio’s tournament on October 6th and Magnolia’s tournament on September 15th.

It was a windy day for Azle, but the cool breeze didn’t stop the players from coming out for a great day of golf.   They had a good turn-out with 90 players and had some great prizes for the winners.

Again, thank you to all of the players and sponsors from all three of our tournaments this year.  We are grateful for your partnership in the ministry of Teen Challenge.

A great day at the SA Golf Tournament!

The Adult & Teen Challenge of Texas at San Antonio celebrated their 10th Annual Golf Tournament as part of the 2014 Adult & Teen Challenge of Texas Golf Tour. This was San Antonio’s largest golf tournament yet. After several months of planning, coordinating and implementing, it finally came to fruition!  They had over 120 participants including students and their families, sponsors, and supporters of Teen Challenge.

“We were blessed by having one of the nicest courses in San Antonio host our event. La Cantera’s Hill Country Resort course, which historically has hosted the Valero Open in years past, provided for a picturesque time which really honored both the participants as well as sponsors,” said a staff member from the San Antonio men’s campus.

Sponsors ranged from local San Antonio businesses to corporate banks and law firms. All of the sponsorships helped provide a fun day showing what awesome things God is doing in the lives of those affected by addiction.

La Cantera catered an awesome lunch. Shotguns and a variety of gift cards were just some of the incredible prizes donated for the golf tournament.  San Antonio’s First Assembly of God Pastor Clark auctioned off a brand new set of Cobra/Puma BioCell golf clubs.  San Antonio’s Cowboy Harley Davidson sponsored a $1,000,0000 hole-in-one contest.  Overall, it was a great day for the competitors.

The top three winning teams included:

ATCoT Thanks HEB Foundation for 4 years of blessings

Adult & Teen Challenge of Texas president, George Thomas, as well as ATCoT staff members Justin Thompson and Tom Moncrief,  met with the representatives of the HEB Foundation Free Camps earlier this month to present a “token” of appreciation for blessing ATCoT with the use of their campgrounds.  Over the past four years, HEB Foundation Free Camps has allowed all of the ATCoT students and staff to attend their camps for the annual Spiritual Emphasis Retreats.  This year, over 240 students and staff attended the camp and 104 men and women were baptized during the retreat.

The cross that was presented to HEB Foundation was a one-of-a-kind craft, hand-made by students from the San Antonio Men’s campus as a sign of their appreciation to the HEB Foundation.

God is truly still in the restoration and life-changing business.
